How to edit or update website content

Login to your website using the username and password provided in the website management manual.

You will now see your website’s admin panel – on the left of the page you will see the main menu running from top to bottom.

To edit a page

1. Click “Pages” => you will see a list of your website’s pages come up.

2. Click on the page you want to edit => you will see a large box with the main body of the page’s text content and possibly images as well.

3. Edit the content as you wish.

4. Once you are finished click “preview changes” on the right hand side of the page. A browser window will open showing the web page with changes but at this point you can still undo all changes you have made. If you are happy with your work then click “update” which is also on the right hand side of the page – you have now saved all changes and cannot backtrack so be sure you are happy with your edits before you click on update.

Note – If you see unusual text and don’t know what it is then it is normally best to leave it alone as it may be code controlling some aspects of the page or its layout. Sticking to changing normal editorial text or images is the safest option for the beginner.
